My images are informed by decades of scientific training as a marine biologist, with a twist of the magical. As Picasso once said ‘Learn the rules like a pro, and break them like an artist’, or maybe just bend them a little. My art answers questions like ‘If a seadragon lived in the Arctic, what would it look like?’

The animals and plants that we share this amazing planet with are magical. I worry that sometimes we lose sight of this. I draw slight mystical takes on animals to remind you that the one that stands before you today is no less enchanting than what you might see in a fairy tale.
