I loved the singular self-possession in the way Faye swam. This strength could be seen from the surface where we captured a photo of Faye rounding the boat at dusk. Then valentine's day rolled around it gave me an opportunity to extend this sentiment to all creatures. In part-protest to the species-bias and marketing consumerism that can often taint this day, this drawing helped me change it and celebrate my love for the natural world. If I had a bunch of roses on that day I would have thrown some petals for her. Each Valentines day Faye does come swim past with a question - 'What will you do to show your love of Nature on this day?'
